If you slid the boot onto the wire before crimping the terminal on you wouldn’t have to fight pushing it on over the terminal with the grease.


@lhreeves - You are correct. I like to try and justify my actions by saying this way there is grease inside and on the edge of the boot to prevent corrosion, but the reality is I forgot to put the boot on the wire first. It still works, just little extra effort as a last step.


Good to show it can be done even if you forget to put the boot on the wire first.
