Nissan registered an old Z for the new Z

The Nissan 370Z is so long in the tooth that the now-13-year-old GT-R almost looks fresh parked next to it. Still, the long wait for the smaller Nissan sports car’s replacement is almost over, with a Canadian trademark application filed for what appears to be the upcoming Z’s logo.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2020/03/20/nissan-registered-an-old-z-for-the-new-z

It’s reminiscent of the swastika. They might want to reconsider.

I’m not seeing the similarity there… on the contrary I think the “new” logo is a cool throwback.

Am I crazy? DIdn’t they use that same Z in the 70’s? I remember it !!!

S130s used it, 79-83 280zx’s…

The 300ZX was released in 1984.

I’m thinking that’s pretty much the basis of the article. It states that it is the same/similar ‘Z’ as on the original 240Z.

If I squint real hard then, nope still don’t see it.

You will find the swastika is an ancient symbol with many/all good meanings until the 1930’s when it was taken over by Hitler. In many cultures and religions it is still used as a symbol for good. (I don’t include the aryan nation in that category)

Sorry, tried to post the link not the text
