The Bandit’s very own Turbo Trans Am is up for auction

Burt Reynolds made second-generation Pontiac Trans Ams famous when he piloted a 1977 model in Smokey and the Bandit. He reprised his role in Smokey and the Bandit II, but the car was recast with a 1980 model. At this weekend’s Barrett-Jackson auction stage in Palm Beach, one of Reynolds’ own Trans Ams will cross the stage. The 1980 Pontiac Trans Am is a limited-edition Indy Pace Car variant powered by the turbocharged 301-cubic-inch Pontiac V-8. It has only 1600 miles on the odometer.
