In the modern age, folks go straight to YouTube in the hunt for explanations and tutorials. Decades ago, mechanics in shops or at home didn’t really have options other than referencing printed service manuals—or listening to the text by way of a record. Think service records of a different type.

LOL…Love the idea!! But I’m such a “visual” guy it probably would’ve been waisted on me.

@Jim-R - Same here! Although it seems to be that the recording often came with some printed materials when distributed to dealers and mechanics.

I mainly struggled with the lack of a pause/perform the action described/resume/repeat. That is how many folks I know use YouTube or other video sites to perform work.
