Who restores a 28-year-old German station wagon?

Memorable experiences with a car can cement a particular model in your brain for decades. Noted auto journalist Jason Cammisa knows because after he got the bug with a BMW, he spent years reliving that experience from behind the wheel of a BMW E30 Touring.

Why not? I had a 1999 BMW 528i Touring. 5 speed manual. I enjoyed every mile I owned the car. It’s demise was that I live in north east Ohio, where rust never sleeps…the demise of every car I’ve owned. The exception is my 1982 Fiat 2000 Spider which spends 5-6 months under wraps in the garage.
